We've all got goals we never actually reach don't we? The good news is you can get them done and dusted if you really want to. I'll help you make a comprehensive plan.
Keep your WHY in mind. Do you know why you want this and why it's worth planning and working hard for? Ask yourself now. If you don't have strong motivation don't waste your time with it. Once you have a goal you know it's worth your time and energy, you'll also need a way to keep the benefits of your chosen outcome at the front of your mind. Create a reminder of your why. Maybe a picture or a list. Don't skip this step, you'll need it to motivate you when you're having a bad day.
Make a plan around what's stopping you. Why haven't you got what you want yet? What do you know you need to do or stop doing in order to achieve this? Now is the time to be honest with yourself and list anything you do that could be hindering your progress. Assess the situation for what it is so you can make the right plan, not something generic. List how you'll work around any set backs. Take yourself seriously and plan to succeed.
Take action. So now you're clear on why your goal is worth your time and energy, and you have a clear plan. Now it's time to make changes automatic so you can stay on track while getting on with the rest of your life. Research has found that positive peer pressure is the biggest factor in making your new habits automatic. This could be being part of a team, sharing your triumphs publicly or just being around people with common goals. Attaching new actions to established habits works well too. You already identified what action you need to take so you just need to associate all or some of the changes with your everyday actions.
If you're ready to make big exciting strides towards getting, fit, healthy & happy, consider this: When you have:
